Meet Sawyer – Your Loyal Fetching Fanatic!
Sawyer is a handsome 3-year-old Border Collie mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for tennis ball fetch! This fetching machine will play for as long as you’re willing to toss — it’s truly his favorite thing in the world.
Sawyer came to rescue after a caring veterinarian reached out for help when his owner left for college and he was sadly kept isolated in a room. Despite that rough start, he’s proven to be affectionate, loyal, and full of heart. Once he knows you, he becomes an incredibly devoted companion. He can be a little reserved at first — especially with unfamiliar men — but his love runs deep once trust is built. ❤️
He’s great with other dogs in playgroups and has two best buddies, Wiley and Tippy. However, because he can resource-guard his tennis ball, fetch time is best enjoyed solo. Sawyer would do well as an only dog or with a calm canine friend who isn’t toy-obsessed. He’s also completely indifferent to cats!
Sawyer has started a Basic Obedience Class and is doing well. At doggie daycare, he’s social but prefers polite company — he’s not a fan of overly rowdy playmates and will let them know when it’s too much.
Sawyer is crate trained, house trained, and ready to find his forever person — someone who will toss the ball, share adventures, and let him be their loyal sidekick.
